OPEN CALL: Telakka Open Border

Theatre Telakka is organizing a performing arts festival Telakka Open Border that will be held in October 2024 at Tampere, Finland. In each edition, the festival focuses on a certain country and this time it will be Norway. The festival will last for 2-3 days, featuring contemporary theater and dance performances from Norway, with a focus on smaller theaters and collectives such as Telakka itself.

The festival's curators are currently accepting proposals for the program. Application should include a presentation of the performance, an overview of technical requirements (if possible), and an invitation to the performance and/or a video recording.

Send the application to: festival@teatteritelakka.fi by 1st of October 2023. Decisions will be announced to all applicants during November 2023.

The festival will pay a remuneration based on an agreement and cover travel costs as well as accommodation.

Theatre Telakka is a small professional theatre, that was founded in the mid 90’s. Since then it has become an integral part of local culture life, and has also made a name for itself not only in Tampere but from all around in Finland and also abroad. The basis of the Theatre Telakka are the artistic experiments and unprejudiced searching for new forms.

Telakka Open Border is a biennial happening that is showcasing performances of small independent theaters and work groups all around the world. It has a different focus country every time.
